Richard P. Salis is a Partner at Levy Salis LLP. Since 2007, he has been a member of the Quebec Chambre des Notaires. Prior to co-founding Levy Salis LLP, he worked as a Quebec notary specialized in estate planning, estate settlement, and real estate transactions. Before becoming a Quebec notary, Mr. Salis was a member of the Quebec Bar and practiced in the areas of civil litigation, corporate law, real estate law, and Quebec estates (“successions” under Quebec law).
His practice focuses on tax and estate planning matters for individuals and families, the settlement of estates, the institution of regimes of protective supervision for incapacitated persons, the homologation of protection mandates in anticipation of incapacity, and Quebec residential and commercial real estate transactions. In addition to working directly with clients, he also works with financial professionals to assist their clients with their estate planning needs.
Mr. Salis is often invited to speak at conferences on issues in Quebec estate planning and the settlement of Quebec estates. He graduated from the University of Montreal with a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) in 2004 and a post-graduate Diploma of Notarial Law (D.D.N.) in 2007. He received his Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Psychology from McGill University in 1998.
